PREPARE YOUR WIG OR TOPPER

When heat styling your wig or topper, always style it on either a canvas or styrofoam head form, and avoid heat styling while you’re wearing it as the fibers will get very hot. T-pins are recommended for ease and security while styling. A head form is also perfect for holding your wig overnight to help keep the style in place. Avoid heat styling on a wig or topper if it has synthetic styling products in it. Be sure your piece is clean and dry prior to heat styling.

Heat friendly synthetic fiber can be curled, waved, or flat-ironed. Once styled with heat, the wig or topper will keep the new style through washings.

                                                                            CURLING

The L’ange Le Duo is a recommended heat styling tool as it has a cooling fan built in and there is no need to hold the curl until it cools as the directions below state. It can be used as a curling iron for tight curls or loose waves. It can also be used as a flat iron. If using the L’ange Le Duo, be sure to keep your heat setting at 320° or below.

  1. Heat the curling iron to a low-medium setting up to 350°F/180C° Caution: Fiber will be damaged if the heat setting is too high

  2. Once you have secured your wig to a head form, begin styling by starting at the nape. Use 1/2” to 1-1/2” sections of hair (smaller sections for tighter curls, larger sections for looser curls).

  3. Spray Restore leave-in conditioner and heat protector on each section as you curl.

  4. Wrap the hair around the iron and let the curl slide from the curling iron into the palm of your hand in its curled state.

  5. Secure with a small metal clip or bobby pin until the curl cools and sets (about five minutes).

  6. When curling is complete, comb with a large tooth comb or stainless steel wig brush into your desired style.

  2. Once you have secured your piece to a wig form, begin using your flat iron starting at the nape. Use 1/2″ to 1 1/2″ sections of hair.
  3. Spray Restore leave-in conditioner and heat protector on each section before you straighten.
  4. Start at the root and slowly glide down each section of hair to the ends.
  5. Repeat until desired results are achieved.
  6. Allow the hair to hang naturally and cool completely prior to putting it on
